This is where I will share what books i'm reading.
For reference, I am a public librarian.
Templates use semantic HTML wherever possible and include a few comments in the code to help orient you. They do not include the placeholder images shown in the previews.
Terms of Use
You may:
- Change colors, fonts, margins, etc (please do! change it all and make it yours!)
- Move the credit from its default location
- Remove the credit entirely (I think it's worthwhile to cite your sources, but I won't come nag you about it)
- Let me know if something is broken
- Break it yourself
You may not:
- Redistribute these for commercial purposes

Layout #4: Kombucha

- Inspiration: shishka, the cute and wonderful SCOBY
Wiggly single column, with big heading text that scales with viewport width. The default color palettes are completely out of my comfort zone, but I was going for something that feels like drinking kombucha... bubbly? fermented? sour? brown?
Layout #3: Cyanobacteria
- Release date: March 9, 2024
- Inspiration: any of the top sites on neocities or nekoweb, MagicPattern
I wanted to try making one of those 2000s-style “everything in tiny boxes” homepage layouts with some modern improvements. The container width is set in rem (so the box scales with each visitor's default font size) and it's a flexbox (so the tiny boxes get rearranged responsively). Light and dark mode are included, with colors set by the variables at the top of the CSS file.

A simple single column layout with a flex-box navigation bar. Made with text-heavy pages in mind.

- Inspiration: kalechips v3, biome, the dream of a totally clean lab space
This is my first free layout! Wowee. This is what I imagine my site might look like if you hosed the whole thing down with a pressure washer, then sprayed all the surfaces with 70% ethanol to disinfect them.
